Low-fat, high protein prawns for strength and beauty

One of our six-pack detox plan recipes, this prawn and cashew nut salad is low in fat, high in protein and packed with iron, to help you build and beautify your body.

Protein-rich prawns are very low in fat, but packed with goodness - including calcium, potassium, phosphorus and vitamins A and E. Like crab, it is also a good source of copper, an often overlooked mineral which is necessary for iron absorption and immune health.

Prawns, or shrimp also contain carotenoid astaxanthin, the antioxidant which makes them pink, which is brilliant for rejuvenating tired skin and hair, and has anti-ageing properties.

Plus prawns contain iodine (for a properly functioning thyroid) and Zinc which regulates leptin, controlling appetite and cravings.

Spinach is known for its iron content, but it's also low in fat, very low in cholesterol and loaded with vitamins and minerals, including calcium and potassium.

Sun blushed tomatoes add colour and sweetness to the dish, whilst also providing heart-strengthening lycopene, fibre and other antioxidants.

Hydrating cucumber and cashew nuts are both packed with vitamins, whilst the lime juice finishes the dish and is good for digestion, amongst many other excellent health benefits.

A tasty, quick, low-fat high protein salad to fill you with nutrients and fuel your workouts.

MeTHOD

  • 100g cooked prawns
  • 20g shredded spinach
  • 3 sun blushed tomatoes
  • Handful cashew nuts
  • 2” cucumber, sliced
  • Fresh lime juice
  1. Place all salad ingredients on plate and squeeze the fresh lime juice over the top
